Something I’ve noticed when watching some MMA fighters is that some appear to be wearing wrong kind of MMA grappling shorts for their body type. What I basically mean is that their shorts do not fit their body which might hinder their performance.

For example a short stocky fighter who is wearing some long baggy shorts might experience slightly more difficulty when throwing a roundhouse kick. Reason being that the crotch or the shorts might be slightly lower causing his range of motion to be slightly hindered. While he might still be able to fully extend the kick, it might take him slightly longer to execute it since the shorts might hinder extension of the leg. This is the last thing you want to do since a split second might be the only thing your opponent needs to block or avoid the kick!

Therefore, in order to optimize your kicks be sure you have MMA grappling shorts that fit your body!
